Barkway Picture House is a community based cinema showing recent run films on our large screen using the latest Blu-ray content with a high power digital projector. We show films twice a month and have separate screenings for adults and children.

We are in the building adjacent to the Village hall.
Our stay-and-play baby and toddler group welcomes parents, carers and children to the village hall every Wednesday morning for play, tea and a chat. We particularly enjoy welcoming new mums and dads with babies who are looking to meet fellow new parents.
The group is run by a member of the preschool staff and takes place in term time from 9.30am to 11.30am. You'll find us at Barkway Village Hall and the session costs £3 per child and £1 for each sibling. Barkway Village Hall lies at the northern end of the village and is available to hire for everyone, with subsidised rates for local residents.
It’s a friendly, active hall, used regularly by all ages including Parent & Toddler Group, Carpet Bowls, Karate, Pilates, Zumba and Barkway Picture House. The main Hall can accommodate up to 126 people, making it ideal for parties and weddings. The newly refurbished Committee Room can be hired separately for smaller meetings.
There is a stage, with lighting, sound amplification and a newly installed projector with drop down screen, perfect for showing films and big TV events such as the Olympics, all available to hirers at no extra charge. Tables and chairs are provided and there is a sprung wooden floor which is especially suitable for keep fit and dancing. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and fully licensed bar area.

The Town House (which means Community or People's House) is one of the oldest buildings in the village and is the village hall.
The beautiful Town House plays host to a number of events throughout the year and can be hired for you to hold your own.

Meetings are held monthly except for August and take place at the United Reform Church in South End on 3rd Thursday monthly at 7.30 pm. Teas/coffees are served and a raffle. Non members are always very welcome for just £5.
Bassingbourn Charities was originally founded to raise money to send volunteers to work in orphanages in Belarus. It has subsequently been extended to help clubs, societies and any other worthwhile causes within the local area. These have included the Youth Club, both Football and Cricket Clubs, over sixties, ABF the Soldier’s Charity, Garden House Hospice, and many many more
Bassingbourn Community Library consists of over 4000 books to lend including the latest popular fiction, large print fiction, books for Children of all ages and a local interest reference section.
Through the Cambridgeshire County Library we can order almost any book you may need free of charge and, as a member of the County Library there is access to the Library's online services.
