Royston Market Traders – The Honest Fig

Royston Market Traders – The Honest Fig

The Honest Fig was created one Sunday evening in September last year by Linda (pictured with husband and assistant Chris).

Our neighbours were coming for a few glasses of wine and I thought I would put together a cheese and meat board. The rest, as they say, is history. A few weeks later I registered with the council, booked in our hygiene inspection (which we passed with 5 stars) and started putting up pictures of the grazing boards on social media.

The idea for the market stall came to me in January. It dawned on me that there was no cheese stall on the market on Saturdays, so I contacted Rob (the Market Manager) to see what he thought and he couldn’t have been more supportive or encouraging regarding my idea.

I try to ensure that all of the cheeses are hand made and as natural as possible and we have a great selection of organic, award winning cheeses. I absolutely love being on the marking, chatting to customers about the produce and having lots of laughs. What started out as a 6 week trial has now turned into something that I can see myself doing for a long time.
